Imagine the joy of receiving a homemade Christmas gift, crafted with love and care. For Andrew and Daniel, this tradition has been a part of their holiday celebrations for the past 10 years. However, in fall 2019, their gift-giving journey took an unexpected turn when they discovered smoked salt in an olive oil store in Salado.

Turning a Christmas Gift into a Business

Andrew and Daniel were so impressed with the unique flavor of the smoked salt that they had created, they decided to turn into a business. With determination and a love for quality ingredients, they embarked on a journey of trial and error. They sourced salts from all over the globe, searching for the perfect grain that would set their product apart. After over a year of hard work and dedication, Texas Salt Co. was born.

From Farmers Markets to Retail Stores

Starting small, Andrew and Daniel began selling their smoked salt at farmers markets and fairs. As the demand for their product grew, they expanded to renting small spaces in retail stores throughout the area. Finally, in November 2022, they achieved a major milestone by opening their first retail store.

Salt Block at Texas Salt Co.

In early 2024, Texas Salt Co made a bold move by purchasing a prime slice of real estate in the heart of Bandera. Nestled between Bandera staples like OST, the second oldest operating restaurant in the state, and the 11th Street Cowboy Bar, The Salt Block emerged as a beacon of innovation and creativity. The Salt Block offers a unique experience unlike any other in Bandera. The property boasts a brand new retail store (Currently under construction) housed in one of the oldest buildings in the county, dating back to 1850. Visitors can sample our exquisite salts and enjoy refreshing beverages while exploring the historic charm of the building. (Fall 2024)
